In January 2021, in the mid of global pandemic my family and I decided to go for a 3 weeks getaway to Tulum, Mexico. Getting through the airport during the pandemic was easy breezy, since we knew what to expect. Wearing the mask for the whole duration with the exception of during meals of course. It’s about a 2hrs drive from Cancun Airport to Tulum. In terms of getting the local currency, pesos it is better to exchange down here…
Our time in Far North Queensland (FNQ) was absolutely magical. We spent two days in Kewarra Beach, 4 days in Fitzroy Island (40 mins ferry from Cairns), 2 days in Cape Tribulation (3hrs drive north of Cairns) and 4 days in Trinity beach. FNQ is an absolute tropical paradise, we were here during the wet season so the beaches were a bit muddy and the killer stinger jelly fish in full effect so we had to wear stinger suit for…
We spent few days in Melbourne, we mostly came here so I can meet a good friend of mine who moved to Melbourne years ago. It’s a beautiful city, the Victoria market is a must visit, St Kilda beach area is very nice too and easy tram ride from downtown area,It’s very cold water so not really a swimming but worth checking out. There are few nice beaches but way out of the city, over 1 hr drive. There is…
After a week in Indonesia we went back to Singapore, a beautiful city state. Its is so clean and organized a bit too sterile IMHO.The culture is mostly Malay, Indian and chinese. We stayed at the Marina bay Sands which was a treat as it is walking distance to the biggest tourist attraction,Gardens by the bay. I got a chance to see the Singapore history museum, which was great, the science museum was a lot underwhelming especially for $34/ticket. There…
We visited the beautiful Cempedak and Bintan Islands in Indonesia, just a short 1 hr ferry ride from Singapore. Cempedak Island: A beautiful private island about 2 hrs from Singapore. 1 hr ferry from Singapore to Bintan Island, 1 hrs ride in private car across Bintan and lastly 30min fast boat ride in arranged by hotel to Cempedak. There is 20 private villas (each with private plunge pool), 3 bars and 1 restaurant on this eco-luxury resort. The food is absolutely…
Long ass winter in Montreal, so my girls and I opted for a long weekend in the Bahamas. We planned the trip last minute hence all the adults only hotels were booked up. We stayed at the Atlantis, cute place nice beaches but way to many kids. Their sister resort The Cove is adults only and much more modern and some amenities are shared, so that’s cool. If you are ever in Nassau and want adult only resort SLS Baha…
Another trip to beautiful British Columbia, we were here for business and pleasure but mostly pleasure. An easy 5 Hr flight from Montreal to Vancouver, then a 2 hrs ferry ride to Nanaimo, then another 3hrs drive winding through mountains and we were in Tofino, our destination. Tofino is a small Pacific surf town on the westside of Vancouver Island right next to the Pacific Rim National park reserve. It took half a day just to get from Vancouver airport to…
